Leadership
Governing Board
LongHouse Arts and Culture is governed by a dedicated volunteer board committed to the mission and the Eastside community.
Executive Director & Founder
Robert Bray III
Robert Bray III is the founder and Executive Director of LongHouse Arts and Culture — a true renaissance man who is an actor, a licensed pilot, and a devoted community builder. Carrying forward the legacy his parents built brick by brick on Buckeye Rd., Robert brings the same visionary, hands-on spirit to LHAC's growing slate of arts and culture programming, stewarding the space as a living resource for Cleveland's Eastside.
Board Chairman
Matthew McKinley
Matthew McKinley is a licensed mental health counselor and lifelong artist who brings clinical insight and creative vision to the board. A dedicated student of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, he approaches community work with mindfulness and care. His passion for both technology and the arts makes him a vital bridge between LHAC's programming and the people it serves.
CB
Vice Chair
Chrissy Butler
Chrissy Butler is a Cleveland-based community advocate and technology enthusiast with a background in UX development. As Vice Chair, Chrissy guides LHAC's strategic direction and helps deepen its community involvement bringing new and exciting technology to the arts.
MB
Treasurer
Marie Bray
Marie Bray is a lifelong entrepreneur whose legacy is woven into the walls of LongHouse itself. Alongside her husband Robert Sr., she purchased and transformed a derelict Buckeye Rd. building into a thriving community space — doing much of the renovation work with their own hands. Her decades of investment and entrepreneurial spirit remain the foundation of everything LHAC stands for.
Secretary
James Quarles
James Quarles is a Cleveland-born artist and CCAD graduate specializing in painting, graphic design, and illustration. With a style bridging pop art and folklore, he uses bold color and meticulous detail to engage in social commentary — working as a muralist, graphic designer for music and arts organizations, and advocate through visual expression. Inspired by Emory Douglas and Shel Silverstein, his work transforms spaces and challenges perspectives.
